Weekly Catchup 47

November 13-19

The WaDaps (minus 1) came for a visit this weekend. It was a super short trip but we got to see them on Saturday night for a little bit and most of the day on Sunday. They head out in the morning.

When the kids woke up this morning we found a bag hanging on our front door with some clothes and THE PICTURE!!! Aaagh! Beware WaDaps. Beware.

We try to do something fun with the kids on Tuesday since Joe tries to take it off. The kids have been dying to see Trolls so we went to a matinee showing. Before we went these two were hamming it up. Dressing like twins isn't complete until there is measuring involved.

There are a few more movies that they are eagerly anticipating. Moana, Rogue One and Fantastic Beasts are on the list.

Hannah had pictures at gymnastics as well. Hopefully, we will get these before February this time. We were happy to see that only one girl on her team wasn't able to make it. She has had so much fun with her team this year!

This kid has glasses now! He was super excited when we got the call that they were ready to be picked up. They had told us 7-10 business days but it only took 2!!

Soccer is over!

Jake and Matthew are done with soccer now. We are so busy for that season that when it is over I feel like we have nothing going on. It is always nice to have a breather. They are already talking about playing baseball so it probably won't be a long break. These are a few pictures from the last few weeks of soccer.

How Hannah rolls at soccer games! While the boys play Hannah usually does some kind of gymnastics while Lily reads. If we are at Matthew's game they will take their bikes and ride around the track since he plays at a local school.

Long Time

It has been a really long time.

A lot has happened. We have lost and gained family members, we have moved (twice), we have had new jobs and left jobs, we have started homeschooling. I am a little overwhelmed with change and all the NEW in our lives.

I am hoping that I will be able to get back to this journal of sorts so that those of you that have been asking about it will be able to get back into seeing what we are doing. I have kept up with posting some pictures on various social media outlets but I know that it just isn't the same.

So, that being said, here we go. New habits for the win! I am just going to throw a few stats up to catch you up on what we have going on.

Joe: Currently one of three pastors at St Peters Lutheran Church. He just finished his first year and has enjoyed getting used to a new normal.

Mary: I have spent a lot of time this past year getting settled, getting kids to various activities, working part time and now, beginning our first year in homeschooling our 4 kids.

Lily: She is in 6th grade this year. Middle school! She is enjoying her first year in youth group and youth choir. She got to sing her first solo with this choir last week and did an amazing job. She is participating in a book club with a home school group that is local here and has enjoyed that as well.

Jacob: He is in 4th grade. He is playing soccer again this year and has experienced the difficulty of having to make choices between activities occurring on the same night. He is obsessed with being an author and is always working on a novel.

Hannah: She is in 3rd grade this year and is feisty as ever. She is in her first year of competitive gymnastics and has been keeping us busy with all the practices and meets. She loves reading and would prefer to do nothing but science experiments all day.

Matthew: He is in 1st grade. He is also playing soccer again and is loving it. I think Joe and I are both looking forward to having a Saturday without 2 soccer games and a meet to juggle. He loves to do whatever his brother is doing, at times to his brother's chagrin. He is addicted to computer games and YouTube videos.

We are LOVING being by family. We are attempting to make our family time a priority and so we try to take advantage of every opportunity to see people. We have been so blessed to have so many of Joe's family here in town. We also were thrilled to see my grandma and uncle over spring break and people from Wisconsin, Washington, Alaska, and Minnesota this summer. What a blessing!

I will work on getting some pictures uploaded over the next few days so that I can get back into posting with some regularity.

Project Life 2014 | Week 13

Jake was feeling so miserable we took him to the doctor and found out that he had strep. Poor baby. Not a good way to start his week back from spring break.

A big happy birthday to the nine year old. Joe took her flowers when he picked her up from school.

Enjoying her birthday dinner... Norwegian pancakes.

Jake working on his scrapbook.

Every single day. Joe and Matthew go through the same routine. Joe asks Matthew if the tongue on his shoe is stuck. Matthew laughs hysterically and says there is no tongue.

Lily had to work on the computer for her spelling homework. She loved it.

Someone brought me this smoothie at work. It was delicious!!

Hannah on the rope at gymnastics. Always a little scary watching her shimmy up that thing.

The doll bed that I made bedding for before we took it to the auction.

Hannah found this gigantic leaf outside and refused to let anyone rake it up. She liked it because it was bigger than her head.

Dinner auction.

Joe took this picture and I love it. Matthew, doing his two favorite things... Sleeping and playing with the DS. Nighty night buddy.

Project Life 2014 | Week 12

Sunday shenanigans by Hannah.

Look who's back! Cindy Lou is back for a visit during spring break.

Happy St Patty's day. A special treat for Mama.

Joe and I got a date night. We went to the Cellar and Cu. So. much. fun. Must repeat for sure!

I took the kids to the carwash. They had so much fun!

Happy birthday Lily!

Lily's birthday haul from the AG store. Not pictured are the matching jammies and slippers she got for herself.

We had her birthday party at a movie theater. She invited the girls from her class and a few friends from church. They watched Mr Peabody and then we did cake and presents after that.

On Monday, her actual birthday she asked for Norwegian pancakes for dinner so we had those.

I can't believe that my baby is nine already! NINE!

Spring break- Day 2

Swimming in the morning.

Back to the Mall.

Lily's birthday present from us was a trip to the AG Store and lunch there. Johnny met us there which was awesome.

Jake wasn't terribly thrilled by the idea of eating lunch there. He thought it was too girly.

Jake's appetizer. He loved it. All was redeemed when he got the food.

After lunch (we got to facetime with Gramma Laurie and talk to Grandma Lee) we headed to the Build a Bear store where Hannah and Matthew each got a creature. Then, we headed back out to the floor to ride more rides and play more games. We finished the tokens and then finished off the day at the Lego store again.

Jake rode this ride with Joe and loved it!

Lily really wanted to go on the log ride so Joe took her on it. It didn't go well. She was terrified.

We headed home around 7:30. It was a long day and the kids were exhausted so they slept most of the way home.
