Disney Day

A Disney day for us doesn't mean going to Disneyland unlike those of you in California... :)  We went to see the Disney on Ice Princess Classics for an early birthday trip for Lily.  It was out in Columbus so it became an all day extravaganza.

003We went to a 3:00 show since we had a 2 1/2 hour drive there and back.  Lily and Jake both napped in the car so we were guaranteed a pleasant afternoon.  It was actually a relaxing experience.  I never would have believed it.

Here is Lily impatiently waiting for it to start. (Yes she is Cinderella!)

We saw Jasmine and Aladdin, Aurora and Phillip, Mulan and Shang, Ariel and Erik, Snow White and Prince Charming, Belle and Beast, and Cinderella and the  004 Prince.  There were appearances by Gaston, all the fairies, Sebastian, Abu (in monkey and elephant form), Genie, Carpet, and several of the villains.  No night would be complete without Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy!  Lily was enraptured by the whole thing!  Jake loved all the music and enjoyed dancing.  We were in a good mood so Lily and Jake got things that they never would have gotten, cotton candy with a crown and an icee in a "shiny cup"!  We had a great time and totally recommend Disney on Ice!

Day of Love

We had a great Valentine's Day.  I met Joe and the kids at Azul Tequila for dinner.  After a somewhat extensive wait we finally got in.  Fortunately they had a mariachi band there and the gentleman singing was good so it was kind of a fun atmosphere.  Jake was obsessed with the singing and kept trying to get up on stage.  Lily was a little more reserved.  She just partied in front of the stage and nothing would get her up there.  The singer picked up Jake and stuck him on stage and the two of them spent the entire set dancing together...I wasn't sure how to handle the situation.  It isn't everyday that you have your one-year old on stage dancing the pumbiya with a big handlebar mustached man.  Anyway, he had a great time dancing and screamed when we got our seats and food.

001After dinner Lily and Jake got their Valentines gifts from Daddy.  They each got a balloon and Lily got earrings, an earring holder, and some flowers.  Spoiled rotten!  It was a wonderful day and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Our Anniversary!

We had so much fun. We went out to Jefferson Point and walked around a little while we were waiting for our reservation time...We ate dinner at the Flat Top Grill (so fun)! For those of you that don't know what it is, it is a stir-fry place that has a really fun atmosphere. You go in, they get your drinks, and than give you a little stick with your name on it. You take the stick and walk through the most amazing line of foods. You put whatever you want into a bowl, rice, noodles, veggies and then you add any of the sauces that you want. You pick your protein, you add the spices and then you hand the bowl to the cooks who cook it up for you right there on this huge flat top grill (ironic). You can either watch them or go back to your seat and they bring the food to you when it is ready. The place was totally packed!
After dinner we went and saw Fools Gold. It was pretty cute. For those of you thinking that wasn't very special you have to realize that the last movie we saw was last year sometime...sad I don't even remember it. After that we went over to Biaggis for dessert and coffee. It was so much fun! I can't believe that we have been married 5 years now. So much has changed in our lives in the last few years and there is so much more coming. Wow... I didn't take a single picture because really what did we do that was picture worthy. I think I actually have one of the two of us somewhere. Maybe for a different post. :)

It's Been a While!

I was having all sorts of trouble with my WLW and so I just finally got the last post up after waiting for what seemed like forever.
So Rachel, here is what I came up with from your tag...

The book is Alexandre Dumas', The Count of Monte Cristo.

"It must be worth at least fifty thousand francs." "Remember it is your wish that I divide the money amongst all four of you," the abbe said calmly, replacing the diamond in the pocket of his cassock. "Now, be kind enough to give me the address of Edmond's friends, so that I may carry out his last wishes."

I have fulfilled my tag...anyone else want to give it a try? If so, find the closest book to you that has at least 123 pages. Go to page 123, count 5 sentences from the top and write down that next three. I know...complicated. Ruthie, this one's for you. More to write later about our fun night out last night for our anniversary.

Reading, going 'round, and jammin'!

We all went to Fort Wayne yesterday because Joe had an all day module at the school, I had some things to do for work, and we only had one car.  So we loaded up the car, drove the 60-some miles out there, and got all situated in my office.  The kids did really great.  They played on the floor, watched a movie, and colored while I got some work done.

Celine called me around noon and we met up for lunch and an 008afternoon  full of fun.  The kids loved running around with her... We went over to her church so that she could practice the bells and Jake and Lily got a chance to play with the bells and the most awesome piano they have ever seen in their little lives!

We went over to the mall and the kids got to go on the merry-go-round there.  Jake had a lot of fun on it.  He has never really been into the "ride" experience but it was definitely a hit yesterday! 023  After that we went over to Barnes and Noble and spent a couple of hours there reading books and listening to music on the headphones.  Jacob is pretty eclectic while Lily prefers Disney classics like Hannah Montana, HSM, and Little Mermaid. ;)

We topped off the day at the ever favorite Red Robin (thanks to the helium balloons and crayons) for dinner and some conversation!  It was so nice to see her again and catch up.  We don't see each other a whole lot despite the fact that she doesn't live that far from where I work...  It has been almost a year!!  Amazing how time just flies by.

Winter Wonderland

I got to stay home from work today because there was so much 001ice out on the roads.   After a doctors appointment for Jake we went outside with Lily and she got a chance to finally do her snow angels.  She did a "mommy angel" and a "Lily angel".

After the angels 013she decided to make some snow men and eventually got an entire family sitting on the porch.  The lady across the street was shoveling her walk and Lily thought it  would be fun to sit there and yell across the street to her.

I am sure that she enjoyed hearing my daughter yell "hey you, what are you doing?"  Just a little rude.  We need to work on that a little bit.

All of the family in a row...018

Joe was so excited to shovel our walks and have Lily throw snowballs at him while he was doing it! :)
