Christie and I decided to have a joint party for Hannah and Madeline this year. So we headed up to Milwaukee on Saturday after Lily’s soccer game. We made pretty good time. A little delay because of traffic in Chicago but got there. Madeline was having a HSM themed party. There were a lot of squealing little 6 year old girls. They had fun making pennants, playing “pass the mic”, doing the limbo, and them running around and screaming and playing with the birthday presents.
Christie, Hannah, and I just hung out downstairs talking until Esther and Virginia got there. Matt, Joe, Lauren, and Jake all went to Josh’s soccer game so once they got back we had dinner and Hannah got her cupcake with a candle and Madeline got her Madelyn cake. :)
We had so much fun visiting with Virginia. We figured out that we haven’t seen her since Lily was 9 months old! That is a little TOO long! It was a lot of fun to see her again…especially since she is only living in Milwaukee now.
After all the festivities and baths were over we hit the road and made it home around midnight. It was a really short trip but definitely worth it. We had a lot of fun!
Happy Birthday Madeline and Hannah!

It has been awhile…
Hannah is ONE!!!!!
She had a wonderful birthday. It was very low-key. Since her birthday fell on a Sunday this year we took a cake to church for the Sunday School hour.
The rest of the day was just hanging out and playing-the norm. We went to dinner that night and enjoyed being together. We had a little cake and ice cream when we got home and she was a DISASTER! She loved being a mess.
She has gotten so big. I don’t think that I notice how big she is until I see her sleeping. She looks so long! She is trying to talk incessantly. Unfortunately we don’t understand everything that she says. I don’t know what we are going to do when she finally gets the real words down. I foresee insanity in our future. :)
Her hair is finally coming in and she loves nothing more than to sit there pulling it. She has taken steps but isn’t walking independently yet. She will be walking before we even know it and we will be regretting it.
She has one more tooth coming in on the bottom. She will probably look a little goofy until the one on the other side comes in. I can’t wait to see her with all her teeth. :)

The girls at their lemonade stand. They probably would have done pretty well if they didn’t drink up all their profits!
Lauren holding up the sign trying to entice customers…it read, “I love you, want some lemonade” With Lauren standing there holding the sign and Lily shouting at every car that drove by it is a wonder that they didn’t make more money!
These two were T.R.O.U.B.L.E.
The boys had fun at the Giants game on Friday night. Giants won! Christie, Hannah, and I had fun at the outlet malls! We got some really great deals. Fun trip and we will be back there soon for birthday parties!
