Dec 29

Today was the last day that we had with Gramma and Papa. We painted in the morning and then after that Laurie and I took the girls and Jake to see Tangled. We had a WONDERFUL time. It was a great movie. The girls loved it. Jake was a little disappointed that it was a "girl" movie.

When the movie was done we went out to dinner all together to a steakhouse. It was a wonderful dinner. We had a great time visiting on our last night.

After dinner the kids were allowed to stay up since it was the last night. They played, read books and just spent time together with Gramma and Papa.

It was so much fun. We loved having them here and as always are really sorry to see them leave.

And here are a few goofy pictures...

Fun with Gramma!

The kids often ask me to do Hopshee (spelling??) with them and I have to decline because I don't know the words and it would never be as fun as when Gramma Laurie does it. :)
Maybe someday I will give it a try. :)

Also, a little reading enjoyment.

Today was a LOT of painting. And more painting. And clean up. Shelves went up into the unfinished side of the basement. Loving those.

Good morning and welcome to our street!

Construction on our basement is in full swing! Loving all the progress. Not loving that I will be painting all of this later.

A little playing with the new Christmas stuff. So much fun!

Slightly awkward picture. I think that they were embarrassed to keep posing like they had been.

All of the ladies and kids went to McDonalds for a little fun and treats while the boys headed out to get some tasty bbq at Famous Dave’s. Seriously, we spent about 2 hours there. How does that happen?

After that we said goodbye to the Wisdaps and headed home to the construction. So exciting to see it all unfolding. Have I mentioned that yet? It was all finished that night. Painting is on the schedule for tomorrow.

Saying goodbye is never fun. We had a wonderful time visiting and we are really going to miss everyone.

Swimming at the hotel pool is always a huge bonus. Everyone except for Gary, Matthew and myself went. I slept on the couch pretty much the entire afternoon while Gary held down the fort and dinner. Thank you so much! I really needed the sleep apparently. Somehow the fire alarm went off and Matthew and I both slept through it!

Prospector Lauren Jo. Who knew that a knocked out tooth could be so cute??

Just some Matthew lovin’.

And just a little more… :)

Thank you Gramma Jack for the hats! All the kids love them!

Christmas Day

So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child.
While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."

Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."
When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about." So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them.

But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.
The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.-Luke 2:4-20

The Dapelo family arrived today. We had a nice dinner all together and then sang some Christmas carols by the light of the computer screen since our printer paper is still in a box somewhere. Not exactly how I had pictured it but still fun nonetheless. The kids were ecstatic with all of their gifts… That makes me so happy!  I have to say that my favorite part of Christmas is that we were all together.
