Lily brought home a little gift from a friend.
This kind of little gift.
She said that her friend Brayden made it for her. Apparently they are very good friends now.
She also brought home this little guy...
Apparently all the kids get to take home Teddy for one night and then they get to document what they do with him. He comes with 4 books to read, a blanket, a pillow, a pair of jammies and a shirt. He also had a journal that every kid got to write in. Lily had a lot of fun with him, she dressed him up, read books to him and then drew a picture of them playing in the basement.
She was so excited to go to school and then so sad to come home. She was sent to the nurses office because she had a headache and when they took her temp she had a fever so they called us to come and get her. She has been laying on the couch all day with the exception of running to the bathroom. Poor thing. She is so miserable.
On a more positive note (sort of): She has had a really difficult time adjusting to all of the changes in her life with the move. I am happy to report that she is once again her happy little self. She is making lots of friends and while she still talks about her friends from Watseka she doesn't cry now. I talked with her teacher and found out that she has improved there too. She is very happy in classes now. She has had some sessions with a school counselor and speaks favorably of them. I don't know if that is what has helped or if she has finally found her stride but it is all good now. She is happy, we are happy, her teacher is happy. all is right in the world. So, thank you all for your prayers and your words of wisdom.
