A picture post.

I had some extra pictures this week from different things but nothing really tying them all together except that they are all of the kids. So, without further ado...

A picture post.

We pulled out puzzles and I have to say that it didn't last too long. Hannah kept putting them together and Matthew kept pulling them apart.

Finally she left him and did it alone.

We have a slight problem with Hannah and shoes. We went to the park yesterday and she took them off and was running around in just socks. Normally this wouldn't be a big deal but she has lost numerous pairs of shoes by leaving them/burying them at parks or playgrounds and then we can't find them later. Fortunately I found them before she had a chance to bury them and sent her to put them on.

Cutest baby ever!

ditto.

This is after she put them back on. I was so excited when I saw this picture. It is so her!

Lily decided that we were going to teach Jake how to pump his legs once and for all. Quite frankly I am fairly sure that he knows how and is just lazy. Anyway, she was demonstrating for him the proper technique.

See?

We went to Culvers after the art exhibit. They were a little wild.

Matthew loves straws. He can drink out of them now so I usually let him have some of my water with lemon but all he wanted to do was stick the straw over his front tooth. He was really funny!

They decided that the best way to eat their Maple Pecan frozen custard was with a straw. I tried to tell them but did they listen?? Nope.

Banana getting in on the straw action.

So that is it for now. Project Life posts are coming soon.

Our artiste!

We were so excited to get a note from the school saying that Lily had a piece of artwork that was chosen to be included in an all school art display at the Center for the Arts in Waterloo. She told us that she thought the one that they chose was an owl so when we got there we started looking.

Surprisingly enough we found it almost right away!

We were really surprised. Joe and I were not anticipating that it would be so cool looking.

It was kind of high up so we had to hold her up to get a picture of her with it.

The picture does NOT do these justice. The room was pretty dark and the colors on the cd's were brilliant! They were so beautiful hanging there, spinning, and catching the light. I love it. The plastic hanger (the kind I hate) and the old cd's make for a really "green" piece of art.

Our March family picture.

They really wanted to pose next to the porpoise. Not sure why but who am I to discourage it?

I loved watching her while we were there. She was so excited to be a part of the exhibit. I can't wait to get the picture from them so that we can put it up in the basement.

Lily's party

These are just a few of the pictures from today. For the sake of privacy I didn't post pictures that held other kids in them. At least not until I know their parents well enough to know if they would care.

She had so much fun playing with them. This is the first year that she has had a pinata and she LOVED it. They did a little craft, ate some delicious pink lemonade cake, did gifts, did the pinata and then everyone played in the basement until it was time to leave.

It was really fun meeting some of the parents. We found out that one of her friends actually lives just down the street. We are really looking forward to better weather so that Lily can play outside with him.

Sigh.

She is getting so old!

She is reading them a story.

That's right.

My oldest baby is reading her siblings a story. When did this happen I ask you?? When?

Project Life-Week 12

I can't believe that this is the last week before April begins! Wow!

The full week. I have a little extra in this week too.

The first half.

The collage page. I added in some text so that the names of the kids would be documented. I printed a second one of these that is in a frame in her room.
I don't have anything on the other side yet. I am trying to find the perfect way to display a few things that came home. More to come on that.

The second half of the week.

*Linking up to The Mom Creative this week. I have been a longtime follower and figured that I might as well start joining the fun instead of lurking. :) The button is on the sidebar of the blog. Check her out. There is LOTS of inspiration in her linky party.

Checking out the wash!

He loves watching the laundry go around and around. He gets all excited and starts jumping up and down as soon as the load starts to spin.

Have you ever seen anything cuter than the face in the bottom picture?

Love.

The washer is not the only thing that he likes to stand in front of.

As soon as he hears the water running he freaks out and starts crawling as fast as he can towards the bathroom. He LOVES water. Like Hannah he has a special affinity for the toilet. I can't even say how many times I have found him hovering by it trying to get the lid up.

Fortunately we learned our lesson with Miss Banana. See this post.

What you can't see because his pants are so long is that he is standing on his tiptoes. I love it!

Just some miscellany...

Cutest little fuzzball!

I love these boys.

Happy Birthday to us!

Here are some pictures of the festivities...

Yes. I look like that when I wake up. We can't all be naturally gorgeous! The kids came in to wake me up with a Mocha Frappe from McDonalds (be still my heart) and these beautiful flowers! I walked out to the dining room and there was a fabulous french toast breakfast feast! Notice the mango next to my plate?? That's right. All mine!
For lunch we went to the Olive Garden for soup, salad, and breadsticks. I took the camera, attempted to take a picture and found that there was no memory card. What a downer. :( Anyway, take my word for it- we had a blast. I have to say that it is really weird to go somewhere without all the kids. Lily was in school and I felt really bad that we were all out to lunch without her.
The rest of the day was spent chilling at home with the kids and then going to the church for the lenten dinner and church service. Someone had made us a cake and everyone sang to us so that was kind of fun too.
Lily's day started with us all singing to wake her up. Usually we do donuts for breakfast on birthday's but she really wanted Norwegian pancakes so we did that instead. She got some tulips from her fave guy.

Then she got ready for school and away she went, but not before posing in the driveway for an "I am 6!!" picture.

She really wanted quesadillas for dinner so that was what we had. When she got home we just spent the afternoon hanging out. She decided that she didn't want to go to dance so we just spent the evening playing and watching movies.

My 30th and Lily's 6th!

Our family weekend.

We had the Wagners and my brother come on Friday night and then the Wisconsin Dapelo family on Saturday to do a little pre-birthday celebration. It is always so fun for the kids to have their cousins and for us to have our grown up siblings around.
We enjoyed visiting on Saturday and had cake and presents around lunch. I was so excited that the weather was cooperating with us and gave us a beautiful day. Joe did some grilling out on the deck and we spent almost all day enjoying the sun in the three season room. I have decided that I really need to do some work out there. It is going to be THE favorite place to hang out as the weather continues to improve.

Lily was so excited to get her cake and gifts. She got some really fun things from everyone. We gave her a camera so there will most definitely be some posts with pictures that she took. Instilling the love early here! I was given a Kindle by my loving family. I am so excited! I spent the evening last night putting free books onto it and have reached numbers in the 80's!

A friend of ours from church came over in the evening so that we could go out for a fun grown up evening. We enjoyed dinner with adults and conversation. I have kind of forgotten what it is like to eat dinner out without having to cut up food, feed, pick up the food from under the table, wipe faces, or blow on the meal of the person next to me. Aren't you glad I didn't do that Matt?? ;)

We all went to church on Sunday morning. Immediately following church the Dapelo's left for home. The rest of us headed back to the house, had lunch, played games, watched Despicable Me and then the Wagners and Johnny headed home too. We spent the rest of the day recovering from a few sleepless nights and the disaster that always seems to follow a birthday party.
Thank you all for coming! We had such a nice time!
