Fort Myers-Day 2

The shells on this beach were crazy!! We were at Barefoot Beach for our first beach day.

Check out the water. It was warm. Believe me!

This is a little piece of Bangladesh...

We went to dinner at Bahama Breeze. It was tasty food but we had horrible service!

Fort Myers-Day 1

Most of these posts are going to be pictures! A picture is worth a thousand words right?

The flight was uneventful and when we landed there was a marked difference in the weather. It was so warm and there was even some humidity going on. I LOVED it! Also, seeing palm trees when you walk out of an airport never hurts. :)

The babies, Melissa and Linnea.

The whole group once we got there.

Project Life-Week 16

Sunday: Palm Sunday! The kids were freaking out with excitement that they could play with the palm branches. They all processed in with the choir, laid the branches down and then ran back, in Hannah's case screaming. She did NOT want to leave the branch up by the alter.

Monday:  Lily decided that she wanted to channel a mustachioed dude. We fortunately got it off using a little eye makeup remover.

Tuesday: Lily had her spring concert today. It was really fun to hear all the songs that they have been working on. We enjoyed meeting some of her friends as well.

Wednesday: It was hysterical watching Matthew and Hannah trying to play with the leapsters. She was trying to show Matthew how to play!

Thursday: I have been leaving my coffee in the microwave recently. Joe left me a note in it this last time. It says...
"Here's your coffee Margaret!!!"
My mom always leaves her coffee in the microwave and then forgets about it until she starts wondering where it is.

Friday: No school today for Lily. We spent the day shopping and finished out the day with the Good Friday service.

Saturday: Hanging out, getting ready for Easter, cleaning up. Just a normal day for the most part.

He is Risen!

He is risen indeed! Alleluia!

We had a beautiful day today.

I love Easter, seeing the joy, the white, the music, the Alleluias, the truth.

We went to breakfast at the church, the kids sang during the service with the choir.

It was beautiful and joyous.

We went to dinner at the home of some church members and enjoyed all kinds of delicious food, great conversation, an Easter Egg hunt, and LOTS of kids playing.

This is as good as it gets folks! They were so much fun. I love these kids!

The boys.

The girls.

Happy Easter from the Dapelo family!

Seven Words

First Word- "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." Luke 23:34
*Almighty God, our redeemer, in our weakness we have failed to be your messengers of forgiveness and hope in the world. Renew us by your Holy Spirit that we may follow your commands and proclaim your reign of love. Amen.

Second Word- "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise." Luke 23:34
*Lord Jesus, you have called us to follow you. Grant that our love may not grow cold in your service and that we may not fail or deny you in the hour of trial. Amen.

Third Word- "Dear woman, here is your son." "Here is your mother." John 19:26-27
*Father of our Lord, Jesus Christ, you have sent your Son to show us your love and the way of life. Make us sincerely thankful for this gift and for your patience with our sins and sorrow. Amen.

Fourth Word- "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" Matthew 26:46
*Lord god, our strength, the battle of good and evil rages within and around us, and our ancient foe tempts us with deceits and empty promises. Keep us steadfast in your Word and, when we fall, raise us again and restore us through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Fifth Word- "I am thirsty." John 19:28
*Merciful Lord, you sent your Son to be our peace. Help all who suffer pain or grief to find in him strength and peace, so that their trust in your promises may be renewed, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Sixth Word- "It is finished." John 19:30
*O God, your Son chose the path which let to pain before joy and the cross before glory. Plant his cross in our hearts, so that in its power and love we come to the final joy and glory, through your son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Seventh Word- "Father, into your hands I commit my spirit." Luke 23:46
*Lord Jesus, you carried our sins in your own body on the tree so that we might have life. May we and all who remember this day find new life in you now and in the world to come, where you live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.

Project Life- Week 15

Here we are! Week 15. We had a crazy week with the last week of the play practice and the 3 showings and of course the preparations for Holy Week.

Sunday- Lily got this cute outfit from her California grandparents. It was burning a hole in her closet. She got it yesterday and had to wear it today. Jake insisted that he had to have his picture taken "for Gramma and Papa."

Monday- They were all super excited that they got a second package from Auntie Esther. They loved their outfits! Thank you.

Tuesday- I love these kids. They are so sweet with their baby brother!

Wednesday- Here's Hannah with her mad skills. She is learning how to make her shapes right now and is obsessed with the heart.

Thursday- Australia shirts. I put Matthew's on him and then one by one they all put theirs on. It was so cute to see them all

Friday- Joe had his first show and we just spent the day hanging out. After he got home we were still in the midst of movie night so we busted out the ice cream while the "men" showed off their mad skills with balancing a spoon on their nose. Matthew was passed out cold so he wasn't able to participate much to Jake's chagrin.

Saturday- It snowed today! Unbelievable. Spring, where are you?? Gymnastics, the second show, the kids went over to a friends house and we headed back out for the third show. It was so fun. I was at a table with Prince of Peace people and we had a little too much fun being the "problem" table. The food was delicious and the show was funny. It was a really fun evening. We headed out the the OP for the cast party afterwards and then got the kids, headed home and passed out.

This cheeky little face = love.
Since this is how I see him all the time (hanging  on my legs, begging to get up) I figured that it would be appropriate to grab a picture.

I heard Matthew crying in his crib and figured that he would put himself back to sleep so I went downstairs to switch laundry. When I came back up I didn't hear anything so I figured that he was sleeping again until I heard giggling coming from the boys room.
I walked in and this is what greeted me. Lily and Jake climbed into the crib to keep him company. They were all as happy as clams!

She is learning how to do shapes and of course the heart is the favorite. She was trying so hard to get the shape right.

These four = LOVE!

Nine months.

I can't believe that he is closing in on a year!

BTW- All that crazy hair in the corner belongs to Hannah. Yes, she does have some. Yes, it is totally wild. And, yes, Matthew likes to keep it wrapped in his fat little fingers any chance he gets!

I was excited and sad to see that this shirt fits him now. He got it from his Gramma and Papa when they went to Australia. They came back the day he was born so we have been waiting and waiting and waiting... for it to fit. Now, I am all torn apart. It fits him really well, which is exciting but I am a teeny bit sad that he is big enough for it.

Oh, the conflict. It is hard to be a mother.

He is still really goodnatured. Obviously.

I have to say that he is beginning to have some moments that make me want to cry, especially in the middle of the night. He has been really restless and then will just start screaming bloody murder. I think that he is having some stomach issues right now. It has been bad the last 4 or 5 nights. He is up for HOURS crying. We are beginning the elimination of foods process now.  Hopefully we will get it figured out soon, for his sake and ours.

He is still very sweet. He LOVES to give kisses. Whenever one of the other kids is crying he will crawl there as fast as his chubby little legs will go and get right in their face trying to suck it off.

He is very busy. As in never still. He loves any kind of stick. Broom, actual sticks, poles, drumsticks, the stick from the balloon, etc. He likes to pound on anything he can find with them.

The three season room seems to be his favorite place. I think it just enables him to see more of the outside world than a little window can. He sits in there and will go from wall to wall examining everything he can. He is a little frustrating to have outside still because every little rock, stick, leaf and cigarette butt goes in his mouth. It is a little annoying but he likes it so much that it is worth it.

Just a few more months and the baby will be a scary toddler.

I can't say that I am excited about it just yet.

Project Life- Week 14

So, I decided to do this week a little differently. Let me know what you prefer...

Sunday: Jake was acting really tired. He kept insisting that he wanted me to take his picture so I just set the camera down on the floor and clicked the button. It actually turned out pretty clear.

Monday: Rachael came over to play with the kids today. They had so much fun playing with chalk in the driveway. She was a huge help too. She helped Jake get his room clean and helped get Lily started on hers. Elena came over later on and they played hopscotch in the driveway.

Tuesday: Daisy meeting today. They worked on two more of the petals. That brings the count up to 3 petals and the center earned. She is so excited!
They did a bird feeder and a poster for their activities.

Wednesday: I had Harper here playing with the kids today. They had lots of fun. I love having kids come over. It keeps my kids so happy! Later we had the Lenten dinner and service. I love Lent! It is one less meal to cook.

Thursday: This is what happens when you have two sisters and a brother who goes along with whatever the aforementioned sisters do. Poor Matthew. He is in a dress, a tiara and is also sporting a scarf as a cape. Clearly he is not too disturbed by it.

Friday: Harper, Linsey, and Stephanie as came over today. We decided to take them the McDonalds to play for a little bit at the play place. Shown below is Harper and Jake. She has decided that she loves him and he is all over it. There was even a kiss involved. It's a done deal!

Saturday: It was just one of those out of control days. Hannah had gymnastics and Lily had a cookie booth to man at the same time in different parts of town. We divided and conquered. Joe took Hannah and Jake, I had Lily and Matthew. As soon as gymnastics was done he dropped them off with me and raced away to go and do a funeral for someone. After the funeral he headed back and got Hannah and Jake and took them home while we packed up the remaining few boxes of cookies. They did REALLY well! Jake was actually one of the best salesmen on the Daisy team! So fun. We spent the rest of the day out in the yard since the weather was awesome!
