Halloween Fun.

Hurray! I can finally show the costume pictures! I have been dying to post them but wanted to wait until Halloween this year.

The breakdown-
Lily- Tick tock croc. She was excited about wearing this costume, partly because it was warm and partly so that she would "go" with the other kids. Fortunately for us it was something that we had on hand from her dance performance. It was her ballet costume. Love it! Repurposing at it's best. We have gotten a lot of mileage out of it this year.

Jacob- Jake from Jake and the Neverland Pirates. He has been wanting a pirate outfit for a long time and when this show came onto Disney I knew it would be a hit. There is just something about sharing a name with a character. Jake the pirate quickly rose in favor. The costume was made by Gramma Laurie. It is amazing!

Hannah- Also, from Jake and the Neverland Pirates. She decided that she wanted to be Izzy. We had to make some slight modifications to her costume to accommodate for colder weather than they have in Neverland. She also wanted me to say that she had on pirate earrings (my hoops) but they don't show in the picture.

Matthew- Cubby. Also from Jake and the Neverland Pirates. Also from Joe's mom. She has some crazy skills in the costume department. I am already thinking about next year. ;) There were some little modifications due to weather for this too. Still, so fun!

They all turned out so cute! I didn't get a lot of pictures of them trick or treating because they all ended up looking like this...

It was almost completely dark when they started trick or treating. :( Oh, well, fortunately I got all their pictures the day before.

A look at the classroom

This one is for you mom. I took a whole bunch of pictures when I was at the school for the party and parade on Friday.

A visit to the pumpkin patch

We headed out to the pumpkin patch on Saturday afternoon. I know that we probably could have gotten them cheaper at Sams Club or even the local grocery store but I am not one to skip a photo opportunity so off we went.

I was really excited that we found out about a free one close by. We got there, the kids ran around like wild animals doing the whole "I want this one, no wait, this one, no, wait, (shouting commences) thiiiiiiiiiis one over heeeeere." Eventually everyone found one that they couldn't live without and we headed back to the car when the crying began.

Hannah caught a glimpse of a Barney and Baby Bop made out of a pumpkin and was devastated that she didn't get the chance to go hug them. So, in the interest of having a trip that was fun for everyone I ran back with her so that she could take a picture with them.

They were hideous. That is all I have to say about that.

Hideous.

Last but not least...

(fyi: She loved them and still smiles every time she sees the picture.)

Project Life-Week 43

Sunday- The boys working on Jake's Lego thingie while Matthew was sleeping. The only time that Lego can be worked on. He got this one with some birthday money from Gramma Jack and Uncle Danny. So exciting!

Monday- We were so excited to have the chance to see Mark and Edith Garrett. My cousins from Mississippi. They are driving around the United States for a year in their RV. They are visiting friends and family and just going wherever they feel like going! They started in March and will finish in March of 2012. We went to Doughy Joey's Peetza Joynt for dinner with them. (Joe was there too, he just had to leave a little earlier.)

Tuesday- Having the weekly storytime with Gramma Laurie. This week she had a special guest with her. Grandpa Dick was the guest reader! The kids were so excited to see him and especially loved the silly voices and the funny faces. :)

Wednesday- Keeping the Lego away from Matthew by putting it on the stove.

Thursday- Matthew loves to play in the car now. He will sit outside and bang on the side of the van until we open the door for him and then he makes a beeline for the drivers seat, turning on every signal, light and wiper possible. The screams that follow trying to get him out are ear-piercing!

Friday- Lily's Halloween party at school. They all took costumes to school, there was a parade, a random fire alarm and lots of treats and crafts. It was a really fun afternoon. I was able to be there to help out and take pictures.

Saturday- Jake got a package from Gramma and Papa in California with birthday gifts and Halloween costumes. Joe's mom is uh-may-zing when it comes to costumes. She did some great Carebear ones a few years ago for them but I think the costumes this year are my favorite. Jake and Matthew got a little costume photo shoot. More to come on that later. We also went to a pumpkin farm and picked out pumpkins for each kid. That was exciting for Matthew. He loved the little tiny ones! This is the best shot of the 4 kids. I know. Pathetic.

There were lots of extra pictures this week. I am leaving out the costume ones for sharing tomorrow.

Linking up with NaptimeMomTog this week. As usual. You know what to do!

Trunk and Treat

Prince of Peace did a Trunk and Treat on Sunday afternoon. The kids enjoyed wandering around and getting a pre-Halloween candy stash. I think I passed out about 250+ pieces of candy. It was freezing but fun!
