Joe was gone this week in St Louis so the kids and I have been hanging out and enjoying a few little outings together. We went to the open house at the fire station on Wednesday before we headed to Caravan at church. I don't know that I have seen a torrential downpour like that since we moved here! It was crazy!
Here are a few pictures of the day.
It was a lot of fun and we saw a lot of people that we know. The kids got tattoos, balloons, snacks, gift bags with coloring books, pencils, erasers etc, the chance to turn the lights on and off in the truck and those super fun little fireman hats. :) Matthew kept trying to release his balloon into the great wide yonder once he saw Lily's fly away. That was fun. Also , trying to get a picture of them all smiling was a challenge. It was hard enough to get them all looking at the camera, much less smile. So, this is the best there is.
Have you had a fun fire house experience? Every time the kids have ever gone they have LOVED it. I know there are some stations that welcome visitors any time and some that say they are happy to do tours and things when they have their big doors open. I plan on trying to take them every year because they love it so much!
