Heading home Sunday afternoon. This was my view from our car on the side of the road. We had a bad flat, the spare was inaccessible, Joe was walking up the hill to see how far away the closest exit was. Awesome.
Home visit with Mrs. Limback... Hannah's preschool teacher on Monday.
Tuesday night was camping in the backyard. Sadly we had a burn ban so the smores were made in the microwave. Good, but not quite the same.
Wednesday morning. Matthew joined them in the tent around 6:30 in the morning. (The two of us slept inside, where it wasn't going to rain.)
First day of school!!!! Lily, the second grader, and Jake, the kindergartener. Sniff. Where does the time go? :) Matthew also started his first day of daycare.
Friday was the first day that Jake rode the bus to school. He was a little apprehensive but did a great job.
Saturday was spent at the Riverloop at the Love Inc festivities. The kids enjoyed the new splash pad and walking next to the river. We went home, changed out of the soaking wet clothes, drove around looking at houses and then ended up back at the library for some family library time. Kind of fun to have Joe along. :)
We spent the day hanging out at the new splash pad at the Riverloop. The two older kids couldn't stay out of it. Hannah was a little cold but would still venture in. Matthew wanted nothing to do with the water.
We took them home and changed them out of their wet clothes and then headed to the library for some book browsing and other library fun. Having Joe along was great. It is amazing what a second set of hands does in a place like that. :)
This was a really fun building downtown. Lily's dance studio is in it and I always think about taking a picture and never do since I am usually the one driving.
We had a burn ban so no campfire but we succeeded in doing s'mores in the microwave. They turned out pretty good.
Matthew and I "camped" inside where there was no chance of rain, no hard ground, and no bugs. He joined the tent crew around 6:30 in the morning. I don't think that they were terribly excited that he woke them up that early.
Later that day we ended up going to the kids preview night at the school to find out who their teachers were and to drop off the mountains of school supplies that we purchased. I couldn't be happier with the teachers. I am looking forward to this year.
Jake was busy doing a treasure hunt in his room while we talked to his teacher.
Lily, checking out her locker. Now that she is in second grade they get a locker in the hallway instead of "cubbies". She was ecstatic. She got the teacher that she wanted and there are about 7 kids from her 1st grade class in this class with her. Good times!
