Project Life- Week 39

Week 39!! I know I say this all the time but this year is FLYING by!

Sunday: We attended a service at another church in town. They dedicated their new sanctuary. Joe participated in the service. Hannah was so sweet, I had to take this picture. I am so thankful for how patient our children actually are with this crazy life we lead as a pastors family.

Monday: There is actually color! I wasn't expecting much since we have had so little rain this year but there is a little. Love fall!

Tuesday: I love that my cookbook is as beat up as the one my mom had when we were kids. Ironically, it is the same pages. Coincidence?? I think not. :)

Wednesday: I have been working on this every spare minute I have to get it done already! I have a new one that came in the mail that I have been dying to start and am trying to show patience.

Friday: After school Hannah had her 4 year old physical. We had to get her form filled out for school and she had to get shots. Big bummer. She was quite unhappy with the whole situation. Can't say I blame her thought. :( We went to Target after dinner so that she could spend her birthday money. That was definitely the silver lining to a very dark clouded day.

Saturday: Lots of time spent playing with these. The girls (and boys) love playing with the fairy dolls that Hannah got with her birthday money. There was soccer, recovering from the shots yesterday and some kids who didn't clean the rooms that they were supposed to. Oh well, there is always tomorrow right? Right. :)

Chuck E Cheese!

We had Hannah's party at Chuck E Cheese. Not one of my favorite places but the party went well. It is really nice that they do absolutely everything for you. Can't beat that!

These are the cupcakes that the girls made for the party. They were pretty cute. Lots of Tinkerbell, pink and sprinkles.

The birthday girl. She LOVED every minute there until it was time to leave.

Opening her many presents. She loves receiving gifts. ;) Can you blame her?

Love them both, they are so sweet!

Things I love this week....

Here we are again. Missed a week. Oops.

1. I love cooler temps. We have had a brutal summer this year so the upper 30's and lower 40's in the mornings feel feel refreshing.

2. This one kind of goes hand in hand with number 1. There is some color showing now on the trees. Not a lot, not everywhere, but some. I don't think that there is going to be much this year. We are so down on rainfall that everything is dead.

3. I hate the fact that Hannah and Matthew are impossible to get to bed at night. I LOVE the fact that now I get the chance to lay with Hannah every night for a half hour just cuddling. She falls asleep easily when someone lays next to her. Joe takes Matthew and I take Hannah. Hopefully we eventually get to the point where she can just go to bed alone but for now I am enjoying my cuddle time.

4. Toys. I hate them so much. I get so upset everyday with everything being underfoot. Then, I realized that I have a few short years of toys underfoot. I am still not thrilled with the disasters or the sore toes and feet from stepping on stuff but I am going to look at the bigger picture. I love this time. I love that they are so imaginative. I love that there are constantly "shows" and "plays" in our house.

5. I love Quickbooks. We are switching to Quickbooks at work and I couldn't be happier! My work load should be decreased exponentially once it is completely up and running. Granted there is going to be some long hours getting it to that point but once we are there it will be awesome. :)

Project Life- Week 37

I am tired. That is the reason for the late update. I have had everything ready to go since Sunday night and just haven't made it a priority. Life happens, right? Right.

Here we go.

Sunday: The kids and I were in Ohio going to the funeral of a dear family friend. Joe was here at home, doing the pastor thing.

Monday: The kids and I were in Ohio and on our way home. Joe was working.

Tuesday: Getting back into the swing of things. These kids were actually loving on each other!! They either love or hate each other. Glad I caught this moment.

Thursday: Need I say more? She is 4!! She was very excited.

Friday: If you can't cry you laugh right?? I keep telling myself that with this child. He is constantly getting into something.

Saturday: Saying happy birthday to mom! We all got to talk to her while she was enjoying her day floating in the pool. :) SO thankful to have her in our lives! The kids LOVE our skyping sessions.

There are lots of extra inserts this week, I haven't quite figured all those out yet. Maybe one of these days I will get the book totally updated too.

Ohio Trip- Monday

Jake loved spending the weekend with "Grandpa Frankie". We had a great visit.

We stopped to see Erv and Erma on our way into town for our "sightseeing". We love them! They were like family while we lived there. The kids loved feeding the fish.

Our old house. The kids loved seeing it. We have so many good memories there.

Jake was born at this hospital. We decided to visit so he could see it. :)

Emily joined us to drive around town. We visited a bunch of different places after eating lunch at the Peppermill. :)

Just a few scenery pictures. I love that the drive from Iowa to Ohio is so picturesque...even if it can be boring at times.
