The Quilt.

I am finally finished! I finally finished the quilt that I started for my mom and dad in 2004. Yes, it has been 8 years in the making. I am going to try and justify it a little. We have been married for almost 10 years and in that time we have moved 6 times. I have had 4 children during that time as well. I ::gasp:: hand quilted a queen size quilt people! Hand quilted! Never again. It was so time consuming. I also would work on it in spurts. I would be going to town on it and then put it away for a year.

Anywho, the trip we took to Texas this past summer was the perfect kick in the pants. I finished all the binding on it in the car. Finally! I am so glad to have it behind me.

I put it in the mail yesterday. It was such a great feeling to have it en route to its new home.
I hope you guys like it!

Project Life- Week 43

Sunday: Church, playing at the park.... So fun. The kids had a blast showing Gramma all the fun things they like doing at the "wood park".

Monday: Grandparents Day at the preschool. They had a lot of fun. There was playing, doing crafts, decorating different kinds of pumpkins, a play, etc. Joe headed to St Louis for a pastors conference as well.

Tuesday was just normal. Hannah had a crazy fever so she didn't go to school.

Wednesday: Hannah went back to school. Matthew played at home with Gramma in the morning. She went to the kids school for lunch. Lunch with Jake and Lily, followed by a little visit to the classrooms and playground.

Thursday: The kids were so excited that Joe came home!! What a relief to have him back. We all missed him.

Friday: After lots of sewing Hannah got a beautiful nightgown that she adores and some princess slippers to go along with it.

Saturday: Saying goodbye is always a bummer. We took a picture of the girls in their semi-matching nightgowns. They love them.

Saying goodbye

Saturday. You know it. French toast.

The girls again.

One last story.

These two are ridiculous.

Yes, they each had to have a turn sitting on Gramma's lap.

Saying goodbye is a huge downer.

On a side note. Lily helped Matthew do all kinds of leaf and glue crafts. I love that she is so helpful with her little brother. PS-She cleaned everything up after it was done. Love this kid.

Family Time- Day 7

Friday. Work. Sewing.

Back off ladies. This one is all mine!

Hannah had commandeered the camera for the evening.

Dinner at Noodles & Co. Hannah was a bit of a diva, and by bit I mean TOTAL. She finally settled down after some coaxing from her gramma.

The worst vending machine on the face of the planet. Sorry, I just can't handle all the choices.

Lily was so into this little joke book. She told them the whole way to the restaurant, while we were there and the whole way home as well. I love that it is a Golden Book.

Working hard. The nightgown for Hannah was almost done!

Princess slippers rounded out her night time outfit. She loved them both so much!

Checking out the fit. I so need a full length mirror somewhere in this house!

Sniff. Sniff.
Last night here! :(

Family Time- Day 4, 5, and 6

Tuesday and Wednesday. Sick kids. Both days.
Tuesday was Hannah. She was actually feverish from Sunday to Tuesday. We dosed her before taking her to school for the festivities on Monday.
Tuesday was Matthew's first fever day ending on Friday. Some weird virus took them both out without affecting the rest of the family.

Jake spent a lot of time on the DS. He has been so excited to play with his new games from his birthday party that I allowed a lot more midweek playing.

Wednesday. Gramma went to lunch at the school. First with Jake and then with Lily. Fortunately the lunches were back to back. She was also able to sit in on their classes just a little.

Thursday. Joe got home from Pastors Conference in St Louis. Everyone was very glad to see him!

There really weren't that many pictures taken over these three days. People were sick, I was at work. There just wasn't anything monumentally earth shattering. I will say that I watched more baseball this last week than I have in the last year. Go GIANTS!

Family Time- Day 3

Monday. Grandparents Day at Hannah's school.

Decorating the pumpkin.

We headed to the library when everyone got home from school to get new books and to return all of the many, many overdue books that we had. Unfortunately the fines just may send us to the poorhouse.  :( Oh well. Somewhere there is a new library with my name on it.

Working on chores. Lily has "unload and load dishwasher". Doing it with Gramma was a lot more fun.

Story time. A nightly occurance in our house. Especially with guest appearances.
