Project Life 2014 | Week 8

I know it is shocking, we got more snow.

This time it was wonderful because it was so warm the kids were able to go out and play in it.

Joe came home later and before getting the snowblower out he played with them for a little bit. They were rolling around and having snowball fights.

We had a warning of blizzard and thunderstorm conditions. The day started out with this ridiculous mix. It was wet but grainy all at the same time. It was a lot like pellets.

The frost on the windshield.

Took the kids to the doctor on the snow day... Lily and Jake still have strep, Hannah is up to walking pneumonia now. If anyone is counting: She has had Influenza A, followed by strep, followed by lice, followed by pinkeye, followed by walking pneumonia. It has been rough going for her. This is the only way I can keep track of all of the meds that we have going on in our house.

Quick dinner plan. Grilled cheese sandwiches. Smoked gouda, thinly slice apple, bacon, and sliced avocado. Delish. It was really tasty. The kids did "normal" grilled cheese and Jake had a grilled pb and j.

The rest of these are extra pictures that are going in an insert.

Lily's class did chapel at the school. It was pretty cute. I was home with Matthew so we went to the school together to attend the chapel. It was so fun to be a part of it.

Done. Boom. One more in the books.

Project Life 2014 | Week 7

Sunday: Came home and found our bedroom ceiling leaking. Yup. Fantastic. Water everywhere. By the time I got in the house Joe was yelling for towels and a bucket. This bin is as good as it gets.

Monday: Character day at school. Hurray for Halloween costumes that work. :)

Tuesday: Decade Day. Hannah was 1950's, Lily was 1990's and Jake was the 1920's. So fun! Lily's comment was "great, so everyone else gets a fun outfit and I get stuck with ugly dresses and big hair?"  Haha... yes, honey. There wasn't a whole lot of good in the 90's. Sorry.

Wednesday: Pajama day.

Thursday: Nerd Day. Jake was majorly unhappy about having to wear pants from last year. HE settled down once he got there and saw everyone was. Hannah flat out refused. She wanted to wear normas school uniform with the glasses as the only exception. Lily wanted to wear her nerd clothes out and about because she thought they were awesome.

Friday: Purple out day for the school agers but Matthew and I had a fun day at home so I didn't get a picture of them dressed like that.  Besides, we needed a little bit of this face in this week! :)

Also from Friday... the boy has lunch ADD. He wanted a sandwich and then wanted crackers to go with the sandwich. Once he got those he realized that crackers would be so much better with cheese and salami so he got that too. Shockingly he ended up eating all of it.

Mini ones: Lily in her new homework spot. We will see how long that lasts. Also, we went to dinner on Saturday since Friday was kind of a bust. I love that Applebees has changed their kids menu and so do the kids. A little strawberry drink for me! :)

The kids Valentines.

Another picture that I LOVE from Decade Day. They are so awesome. Also, new nonsensical game that is getting way to much of everyones time. Flappy bird. It could be a bad word now.

That's it for the week... more to come.

Project Life 2014 | Week 6

Sunday: Lily sleeping from home to Buffalo Wild Wings. 10 minutes. Tops.

Monday: The teachers had a professional work day so the kids were out of school. We took the opportunity to run over to their old school so that they could say hello to their teachers from last year and whatever friends they could find out of class. So fun. Jake loved seeing his teacher.

When we walked by the library there were a bunch of Lily's friends in there and they all ran to the window and were calling her so we stopped in there really quickly and took a picture with them too.

Then we headed over to the lunchroom where Jake met up with three of his best friends from last year. So convenient. Who would have thought that they would just happen to be there?

Then we ran into Lily's teacher on his way into lunch as we were leaving. So awesome how everything just worked out perfectly. :)

After that we headed home. Lily took this out her window. So many birds!!

Tuesday: Hannah finally went back to school after her bout with influenza A. She lasted about 3 hours before having to go home with a raging fever. I took her into the doctors office- strep. Poor kid. She just can't catch a break.

Wednesday: Part of Lily's spelling homework was to do "delicious words". She had to write them out in something edible. Chocolate syrup was the name of the game. She was ecstatic.

Thursday: The sheer number of squirrels in our yard is frightening. There is all this smooth snow in our neighbors yard and half of ours. The other half is mangled thanks to the squirrels that have taken up residence in our front yard. They actually burrow under the snow! We counted 17 today.

Saturday: Happy anniversary to Joe and myself. We have been married 11 years. We started out the day with a family breakfast at Perkins. After that we ran Hannah to gymnastics. It was snowing so hard! Everything was totally covered in big fluffy flakes. After that we headed home and worked on the house a little before taking a nap... yep, glamorous. After that we headed out to church for a Valentines dinner put on as a fundraiser by the youth group. It was so fun, there were lots of audience participation skits, the food was tasty and we laughed a lot. Fun evening.

Matthew with his "olafs". He also got the "hook-ups" after eating too many of them. Love that kid.

 That's all she wrote...
