Weekly Catchup 47

November 13-19

The WaDaps (minus 1) came for a visit this weekend. It was a super short trip but we got to see them on Saturday night for a little bit and most of the day on Sunday. They head out in the morning.

When the kids woke up this morning we found a bag hanging on our front door with some clothes and THE PICTURE!!! Aaagh! Beware WaDaps. Beware.

We try to do something fun with the kids on Tuesday since Joe tries to take it off. The kids have been dying to see Trolls so we went to a matinee showing. Before we went these two were hamming it up. Dressing like twins isn't complete until there is measuring involved.

There are a few more movies that they are eagerly anticipating. Moana, Rogue One and Fantastic Beasts are on the list.

Hannah had pictures at gymnastics as well. Hopefully, we will get these before February this time. We were happy to see that only one girl on her team wasn't able to make it. She has had so much fun with her team this year!

This kid has glasses now! He was super excited when we got the call that they were ready to be picked up. They had told us 7-10 business days but it only took 2!!

Soccer is over!

Jake and Matthew are done with soccer now. We are so busy for that season that when it is over I feel like we have nothing going on. It is always nice to have a breather. They are already talking about playing baseball so it probably won't be a long break. These are a few pictures from the last few weeks of soccer.

How Hannah rolls at soccer games! While the boys play Hannah usually does some kind of gymnastics while Lily reads. If we are at Matthew's game they will take their bikes and ride around the track since he plays at a local school.

Long Time

It has been a really long time.

A lot has happened. We have lost and gained family members, we have moved (twice), we have had new jobs and left jobs, we have started homeschooling. I am a little overwhelmed with change and all the NEW in our lives.

I am hoping that I will be able to get back to this journal of sorts so that those of you that have been asking about it will be able to get back into seeing what we are doing. I have kept up with posting some pictures on various social media outlets but I know that it just isn't the same.

So, that being said, here we go. New habits for the win! I am just going to throw a few stats up to catch you up on what we have going on.

Joe: Currently one of three pastors at St Peters Lutheran Church. He just finished his first year and has enjoyed getting used to a new normal.

Mary: I have spent a lot of time this past year getting settled, getting kids to various activities, working part time and now, beginning our first year in homeschooling our 4 kids.

Lily: She is in 6th grade this year. Middle school! She is enjoying her first year in youth group and youth choir. She got to sing her first solo with this choir last week and did an amazing job. She is participating in a book club with a home school group that is local here and has enjoyed that as well.

Jacob: He is in 4th grade. He is playing soccer again this year and has experienced the difficulty of having to make choices between activities occurring on the same night. He is obsessed with being an author and is always working on a novel.

Hannah: She is in 3rd grade this year and is feisty as ever. She is in her first year of competitive gymnastics and has been keeping us busy with all the practices and meets. She loves reading and would prefer to do nothing but science experiments all day.

Matthew: He is in 1st grade. He is also playing soccer again and is loving it. I think Joe and I are both looking forward to having a Saturday without 2 soccer games and a meet to juggle. He loves to do whatever his brother is doing, at times to his brother's chagrin. He is addicted to computer games and YouTube videos.

We are LOVING being by family. We are attempting to make our family time a priority and so we try to take advantage of every opportunity to see people. We have been so blessed to have so many of Joe's family here in town. We also were thrilled to see my grandma and uncle over spring break and people from Wisconsin, Washington, Alaska, and Minnesota this summer. What a blessing!

I will work on getting some pictures uploaded over the next few days so that I can get back into posting with some regularity.
